How to prepare furniture before storage
Start by cleaning each piece. Dust, stains, and debris can become more difficult to remove after a few months. Surfaces should be completely dry before packaging.
If the furniture can be dismantled, break it down into smaller pieces. A bed, wardrobe or table takes up much less space when they are dismantled. Keep screws, hinges and accessories in separate, clearly labelled bags and attach them to the appropriate piece.

How to place furniture in a box
The order in which you put things in the box matters. Heavy and durable items should be placed first, towards the back or on the edges. Fragile items and those that you might use more quickly should be left in the front.
Cabinets and chests of drawers can be used to store light items, but drawers and doors must be secured so they do not open during handling.
Don't stack all the pieces directly on top of each other. Leave some space between the items so you can reach them and they don't rub or bump into each other.

The dimensions are approximate. Two apartments with the same number of rooms can have very different amounts of furniture. Therefore, before booking, it is a good idea to make a list of large pieces and estimate how much they can be unpacked.

Furniture storage during renovation
During a renovation, furniture left in the house can get dusty, scratched, or get in the way of the work. Moving items from one room to another doesn't always solve the problem, especially when working throughout the apartment.
